- discuss how to avoid liability issues such as discrimination, harassment, workplace violence, and other staffing and workplace risks; and
- discuss risk management strategies and protocols to mitigate liability issues involving staff.

About the Speakers: Teri Deabler, CMPE, COE is a practice management consultant with 25+ years’ experience in healthcare management creating high performing teams in private practices across the country. Her expertise includes revenue cycle management, practice relocations with construction project management, operational process improvement and team building. Ms. Deabler is a Certified Practice Management Executive through MGMA, as well as a Certified Ophthalmic Executive through ASOA. She trained at the GE Learning Center on Change Acceleration Process and Work-Out.
Linda Schoonmaker, JD is a partner in the Labor & Employment Department at Seyfarth Shaw's Houston office and has been Board Certified by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization in Labor and Employment law since 1994. For over three decades, Linda has defended employers in lawsuits, arbitrations and administrative changes brought by employees and governmental agencies throughout the United States.
Tanya Babitch is the Assistant Vice President of Risk Management at Texas Medical Liability Trust. She has more than 30 years of experience in the health care industry. Before joining TMLT in 2002, Tanya earned a Bachelor’s of Arts in Psychology from the University of Texas at Austin, and worked at St. David’s Medical Center in health information management and continuing medical education (CME) planning.
