Texas Medical Liability Trust (TMLT) publishes closed claim studies based on real TMLT malpractice claims. By providing true examples of closed professional liability claims, physicians and providers in all specialties can learn how to avoid errors in a variety of practice areas. These studies are produced to help physicians improve patient safety and reduce liability risks.

Course Objectives:
At the conclusion of this educational activity, the reader should be able to:

discuss the importance of documentation for timely treatment and diagnosis;
illustrate how strong communication can help documentation and patient care;
summarize the physician's role and responsibility for acquiring informed consent from patients; and
describe the process and reasoning for documenting and tracking opioid prescriptions.

CME Discount:

The Texas Medical Liability Trust is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians.
