Who Should Attend: This 2-hour live CME webinar is intended for physicians of all specialties who are interested in practical ways of reducing the potential for liability claims and Board complaints involving the delegation and supervision of medical staff. Course Objectives: Upon completion of this course, participants should be better able to: - discuss the Texas Medical Board rules which govern delegation and supervision of medical staff, including advanced practice providers (APPs), medical assistants, nurses, and others;
- Review real medical liability cases involving staff supervision and delegation; and
- Identify issues which frequently generate preventable liability claims and Board complaints involving staff, and share best practices to avoid these issues

About the Speakers: Dan Ballard, JD is a partner with Ballard & Simmons, LLP. Mr. Ballard has spoken extensively on risk management and medical malpractice defense issues to physicians throughout the state.
Tanya Babitch is the Assistant Vice President of Risk Management at Texas Medical Liability Trust. She has more than 30 years of experience in the healthcare industry. Before joining TMLT in 2002, Tanya earned a Bachelor’s of Arts in Psychology from the University of Texas at Austin, and worked at St. David’s Medical Center in health information management and continuing medical education (CME) planning.
