This is a podcast (audio-only) CME activity. The presenters will summarize and discuss some real cases TMLT has defended that include issues with poor management or communication of test results. Then, they will talk about strategies and protocols to help you and your practice manage diagnostic tests and avoid these pitfalls.

Course Objectives:
Upon completion of this course, the participant should be able to:
  • recognize practical strategies to improve patient care, avoid litigation, and enhance defensibility in the event of a lawsuit;
  • identify how issues such as lost or miscommunicated test results can affect patient outcomes and physician liability;
  • explain how comprehensive test tracking protocols can help prevent malpractice claims; and
  • review steps to develop test tracking and follow up protocols in your own practice.
