Course Objectives: Upon completion of this course, the participant should be able to:
list potential advantages and disadvantages of using an electronic medical record (EMR);
identify the federal laws in place to protect patient privacy and personal health information;
discuss how to select an EMR for use in their practice; and
apply risk management strategies when using an EMR.
